Hussain Sagar

I swim the murky waters
at Buddha's feet
I watch them throw peels,
wrappers
with glee
I keep royal company
in these depths
Where,
I wonder, are others
whose fate shared I
A few score years separate our lives
but just as in stone so
in death we unite
thus
The hands that yanked me off
my seat
are the same
that
were waiting
to fill an exam sheet
the same that
were planning a holiday treat
in a minute the mind
took a beating
choking
gulping
retreating
its tears heard not my music
its rage voiced not my lyrics
only a call
of here and now
while I have far gone
long ago
concluded the futility
I am grateful
for finally
I am at Buddha's feet
